Any accessory for a smartphone must be comparable in size to itself, otherwise mobility and comfort of work sharply deteriorate. It is a different matter if the device does not have a permanent physical form, as is the case with the Masterkey 4.0 keyboard, which is projected by a laser beam onto the surface. In the deactivated form, it is no more than a case for a smartphone, in the active one, you see a full-size QWERTY keyboard for working with documents.
The technology of the projected Masterkey keyboard has been developed by its authors since 2014, they wanted to get not just a toy for geeks, but a universal gadget that will make the rejection of physical keyboards a reality. Simply because you can deploy a virtual analogue on a table at home or on a wall in an auditorium at any time. The pico projector can enlarge the picture up to 120 inches diagonally, but at the maximum resolution of 854x480 pixels, the picture does not differ in detail.
Contrast parameter 2000: 1, brightness no more than 100 lumens, manual sharpness correction. By default, a keyboard with dimensions of 245x110 mm is projected, an integrated infrared camera monitors "clicks" at a speed of up to 350 characters per minute. Masterkey 4.0 connects to an iOS / Android smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0, and to other devices via USB or HDMI. The capacity of the built-in battery is 5200 mAh, there is a microSD port.
The startup offers two versions of the projected keyboard, a base one for $ 179 and a business model for $ 225. If the fundraising goes according to plan, Masterkey 4.0 will go on sale in January 2019.
