Samsung showed off its first gaming controller yesterday. The novelty is called Smartphone GamePad and is compatible with mobile devices on the Android platform.
Samsung's Smartphone GamePad comes with two triggers, a D-Pad, analog sticks and multiple function keys. A pull-out tray is provided for installing a mobile device, and its autonomous operation is provided by a built-in rechargeable battery with a capacity of 160 mAh.
The gamepad is compatible with mobile devices with displays from 4 to 6.3 inches. Also requires an installed Android mobile platform of at least 4.1 Jelly Bean. Gadgets are connected to the joystick via Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC interfaces.
Samsung also released the Mobile Console app, which lists all the games compatible with the new gamepad. Now there are about 35 of them, but the company promises to constantly expand the range.
In the near future, sales of Smartphone GamePad will start in European countries. True, its cost is still unknown.
