To date, many devices have been created that are designed to fully replace the traditional means of controlling a personal computer. Finally, it was the turn of the poker fans. Poker Controls decided to please players with an unusual device, which is a wireless joystick optimized for online games.
The gadget will make life easier for those for whom poker from the category of hobbies has grown into a means of earning. Obviously, sitting in front of the monitor and controlling the movement of an inconspicuous cursor is a tedious task that often ends with back pain and sore eyes. The Poker Controller allows you to play poker from a comfortable chair or sofa.
The joystick is connected to a computer via a USB stick and runs on ordinary batteries, which are reasonable to use as rechargeable batteries. The package contains a cord that allows you to recharge the batteries. However, tests have shown that you do not have to resort to its help often - the Poker Controller successfully withstands many hours of continuous sessions, even on low-capacity batteries.
The product requires mandatory installation of the appropriate software and activation on the manufacturer's website. The disadvantage of the device is its incompatibility with the Mac OS operating system, while the gadget works quite correctly on Windows and Linux platforms.
Despite the dimensions impressive for a handheld device, the controller weighs very little and lies perfectly in the hands. At the same time, the layout of the buttons leaves a double impression. The distance between the keys may seem too large, and for those with small palms, the central buttons and shifters are completely out of reach. At the same time, the wheel for controlling the size of bets deserves praise, which is ergonomically located on the left side of the device and, due to its high accuracy, minimizes the probability of an accidental bet.
One way or another, the joystick's functionality was a success. The developers have even taken care of players prone to tilt, in other words, losing control of the game as a result of a series of victories or defeats. Especially for them, the controller was equipped with a "Tilt" button, by pressing which, the user blocks access to the game room for a certain period of time, which will allow not to lose out and save at least some money on the account. Plus, the Poker Controller can be used as a gamepad in other non-poker games.
During testing of the device on well-known poker rooms, no serious bugs and errors were revealed. And if professional players out of habit are unlikely to abandon traditional controls, then for those who are just starting to get acquainted with poker, the controller can do a good job. In addition, the price of the product is not high and varies between 120-150 US dollars.
By the way, there is a separate feature for the owners of Apple smartphones. The English company Smarter Controls International has developed a digital version of the Poker Controller. It is a mobile application that completely repeats the capabilities of the controller.
