Foldable Astro ukulele fits in your pocket

Ukulele is a small four-string ukulele. Its dimensions range from 53 to 81 cm. The team of the Italian startup Astro is sure that even 53 cm is a lot, especially when it comes to luggage, where everything is packed extremely compactly.

To begin with, unlike the classic wooden soprano ukulele, the Astro is an electronic instrument. Its folded dimensions are 28 x 10 x 6 cm (length, width, thickness), which allows you to put the device in a backpack pocket, which usually holds a half-liter bottle of water. In the "firing position" Astro dimensions increase to 55 x 15 x 4 cm.

The neck folds (breaks) in half using a special hinge mechanism and a floating bridge without having to remove the tensioned strings. The Astro is made of wood and ABS plastic, and the neck is finished in mahogany.

The instrument is made in two versions - the acoustic model Astro A, which produces a volume of up to 50 dB, and the electric Astro E. There are 2 “wings” on the body for greater convenience.

The creators of the electronic ukulele are developing a special application - Contemporary Astro, which will allow a musician to record his compositions, modify them and share them with friends.

The Astro E ukulele can be found and purchased on Kickstarter for € 149 and the acoustic model A for € 169.
