Computer manufacturer Lian Li (Taiwan) presented a novelty at CES-2019 - the DK-04 computer. Its main feature is that it is designed as a vertical writing desk.
Following the proprietary concept, the developers of the DK-04 placed all its electronic stuffing in the tabletop. The body is partially made of aluminum (side walls and bottom), and the top cover is made of special glass with dimensions of 1200 x 750 mm, which can be changed in transparency in case the user wants to hide the contents. The surface of the table is capable of supporting a weight of up to 100 kg.
Another feature of the DK-04 is the adjustable telescopic legs, designed for a height range from 780 to 1170 mm. Thanks to them, you can work while standing at the table to reduce the static load on the body.
The case of an unusual computer is quite large. There is an ATX power supply unit, a motherboard and (optionally) a water cooling system. The maximum allowable height of a processor cooler is 140 mm. The table has 4 storage baskets with rubber dampers to reduce noise and vibration. They hold up to eight 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch hard drives or SSDs.
The computer has many of the features typical of a high-end PC: a USB Type-C port, four USB Type-A 3.1 ports, HDMI and two audio jacks. There are also controls for fans (there are four of them on the front and rear panels) and backlighting. The estimated retail price of the Lian Li DK-04-F is $ 1200.
