Mark Zuckerberg announced a set of measures designed to promptly suppress and remove inappropriate content. This decision was a reaction to harsh criticism from Facebook, where two videos of the murders appeared, which were watched by hundreds of thousands of users before they were blocked.
In retaliation, Zuckerberg intends to hire an additional 3, 000 moderators over the course of the year to view billions of posts every day in order to detect and filter out “heartbreaking” content as quickly as possible, for which Facebook uses special algorithms.
In particular, posts that violate the established moral and ethical standards are identified and appropriate measures are taken up to contacting law enforcement agencies. So last week, thanks to the prompt response of the moderators, suicide was prevented.
