The famous company Zaha Hadid Architects has been selected as the chief designer of the new residential area Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye, which will become a symbol of aspiration for the future of the Russian capital. The district is located in the near Moscow region, to the west of the city. Already in 2020, a new metro station will appear here, which will connect it with the main transport system of Moscow. The city is growing rapidly and new residents are placing increased demands on the level of the living environment.
The architects are faced with an ambitious task dictated by the pressing problems of Moscow. The city authorities want to get away from the practice of carpeted construction of areas with residential high-rise buildings, the so-called "human", from "man" and "anthill". As noted in the company of Zaha Hadid, they need to develop a public space in which the concepts of a smart city will be combined with the openness of the corporate identity of their architecture and the rational use of a limited area.
It is assumed that 66.5 thousand people will settle in the new district, for whom it is necessary to build the entire infrastructure from scratch - schools, shopping centers, transport routes, etc. At least one third of the territory is allocated for various kinds of parks, including a forest zone with a large lake. And it is also necessary to place a certain number of office premises somewhere between residential buildings and green areas, in which up to half of all local residents will work.
So far, there are only rough sketches and advertising renders, which do not reflect the true appearance of the future residential complex. Firstly, because the design has just begun, and even the climatic features of the region have not yet been taken into account. Secondly, in parallel with Zaha Hadid Architects, many Russian companies will work on the project, including Pride Pride, UNK Project, Archea Associati, Nikken Sekkei, ABD Architects.
