There are many applications that use special filters to turn user photos into works of art. For example, you can give your selfie a sophisticated watercolor look, or change the color and composition. And now, thanks to Google, you have the opportunity to take a photo in the style of your favorite artist.
Art Transfer is a new feature in the Google Arts & Culture app that lets you apply famous paintings to selected photos, from Vincent Van Gogh's bold swirls to Frida Kahlo's surreal paintings.
Art Transfer is based on an algorithmic model that not only mixes images, but produces a unique "reassembly" of the source based on a specific art style. And all this happens right on your device without the help of the cloud.
To take advantage of the new function, you need to open the camera menu in the Google Arts & Culture app and select “Art Transfer”. Then choose an image and select one of the dozens of proposed masterpieces by famous artists. You can even use the scissors icon to choose which part of the photo you want to apply a given style to.
