Russian scientists have developed a new technology for broadcasting television channels

The development is called "peer-to-peer television technology". Its main feature is the ability to use television wherever there is Internet. The co-authors of the joint project were scientists from Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics and specialists from the Elecard company.

Unlike the current broadcasting technology, peer-to-peer television does not require the construction of expensive regional data centers. To connect to your favorite TV channel, the user will only have to install the player program on his mobile device.

The new technology is intended primarily for remote areas, where the creation of data centers is very problematic, and sometimes simply impractical. The rapid development of Internet broadcasting will solve this problem and provide high quality TV broadcasting. The cost of the project, which is to be completed this year, amounted to about 242 million rubles. The funds were allocated by the Russian Government.
