Denmark establishes the world's first 'digital embassy'

Denmark became the first country in the world to establish the position of the so-called “digital ambassador”. The Danish Foreign Ministry commented on its decision by the fact that in the modern world, tech giants like Google or Apple enjoy more influence than other states.

"Corporations like Google, Apple or Microsoft are now a new type of nation and we need to accept this fact, " said Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen. He noted that the economic potential of Apple and Google is so great that if they were states, they would be on the verge of getting into the G20, the twenty largest economies in the world. The newly created digital embassy will be engaged in building relationships with such giants of the technological market.

It should be noted that Denmark is already reaping the benefits of joint lobbying efforts targeting large technology companies. For example, a few days ago, Facebook announced its decision to create a new data center in Odense, Denmark's third largest city. According to the Danish Foreign Ministry, this agreement with Facebook is the fruit of three years of diplomatic work.
