Startup Virtuix is currently developing the Omni One home VR treadmill. It is a complete fitness controller that gives the user the ability to run, jump and crouch on the spot. The device is expected to be completed by mid-2021.
The Omni One is different from regular treadmills. It is a platform with a low friction coefficient; to use it, you need to put on special pads on your shoes, fasten your seat belts and connect a standalone VR headset.
Compared to its predecessors, the Omni One is much more compact. Before starting work, the user fastens himself with belts to the vertical bar, which, on the one hand, guarantees him complete freedom of action and at the same time protects him from falls. The treadmill itself is replaced by a small octagonal platform with a depression. Games with support for this system - up to 30 titles - are in a special store. These are expected to include games like Fortnite and Call of Duty.
Virtuix intends to release the Omni One in two versions - a standard one with a VR headset at a price of $ 1995 and an entertainment gaming system without a headset, which will cost less at $ 995.
