Chameleon contact lenses will hit the market in 2019

Jonson & Jonson Vision, one of the world leaders in the development of contact lenses, has announced that Acuvue Oasis self-adjusting contact lenses, developed in cooperation with Transitions Optical, will go on sale in 2019.

They will still, like regular contact lenses, correct vision problems, plus they will respond to light levels. At the same time, they will automatically change the level of darkness, filter out blue light and block UV rays.

Representatives of Jonson & Jonson Vision emphasize that the new lenses do not replace sunglasses, since they do not cover the entire eye. The work on the novelty lasted for 10 years. During this time, many clinical trials have been conducted with the participation of more than 1000 volunteers. The company has already received the appropriate approval for the use of lenses from the US Food and Drug Administration.

Acuvue Oasis reusable contact lenses will go on sale in the first half of 2019.
