GIFs are wildly popular with millions of social media users. The engineers at BEAM Authentic took advantage of this and created a smart badge called BEAM. However, the word "icon" is not entirely correct, since we are talking about an electronic device with an AMOLED screen, to which a stream of GIF files is transmitted.
The BEAM screen has a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels, the thickness of the gadget is 10 mm, and the diameter is 50 mm. The icon is completely autonomous and can operate on battery power for 24 hours. However, this is where the autonomy ends. For BEAM to work, it must be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, from where images will be downloaded. Up to hundreds of static and animated images can be stored in the device's memory. The badge is attached to clothes using magnetic holders.
Another function is the transmission of an alarm message containing the coordinates of the smartphone to several pre-selected subscribers. To do this, you need to hold the device button pressed for 10 seconds. The price of a BEAM smart badge is $ 99, with $ 3 for each badge sold being transferred to one of three user-selected charities.
