Scientists from Perm create a warning system about natural disasters

A group of young scientists from the Perm Research University is working on the project. The main goal of the research is to create an effective system for preventing natural disasters: sudden changes in temperature, hurricanes and atmospheric precipitation.

Scientists attach particular importance to the quality of forecasts, which in the future will make it possible to indicate with high accuracy the time and place of anomalous natural phenomena. We can talk about an hour and a distance within 10 kilometers. According to the project manager Andrey Shikhov, such accuracy will help to avoid the catastrophic consequences of destruction and human casualties caused by them.

In their work, Perm scientists used materials from their American colleagues from the National Center for Atmospheric Research and the University of Pennsylvania, which they adapted for their region. The work is expected to be completed in 3 years by creating a special Internet service, with the help of which Perm residents will be able to find out the weather forecast with high accuracy.
